In a dramatic turn of events, gangster Binu Pappachan surrendered himself to the city police, led by Ambattur Deputy Commissioner Sarvesh Raj IPS . This came shortly after a police crackdown on his birthday party, where 75 rowdies were arrested from a lorry shed on the outskirts of Chennai. In an 82-second video released post-surrender, Binu, aged 50, appealed for leniency, stating his diabetic condition and desire to distance himself from his criminal past.
